The Makita 1/4 Inch SJS™ paddle switch die grinder is powered by a high-speed motor that rotates at 7000 to 28,000 RPM for maximum production. SJS™ mechanical clutch system avoids motor and gear damage there by allowing the drive shaft to slip if the wheel is forced to stop. The electronic controller offers soft start that suppresses start-up reaction for smooth start-ups and longer gear life. Electronic controller also protects the device from any potential damage from overload in high torque applications. Labyrinth construction offers long lasting durability by preventing the entry of debris to motor, bearings and gears. Zig-zag epoxy is applied to both sides of the armature coil and a powder coating to provide long lasting durability while protecting from debris. Variable speed control dial allows the user to match the speed based on the application requirement. Directional air-flow vents channel the tool's air output away from the operator.
